Sony Xperia SP : The low-cost Xperia

After the launch of the Sony Xperia Z phone and tablet the company is unveiling their new smartphone Sony Xperia SP. Sony has worked very much for their phone Sony Xperia Z. The accomplishment of the hard work can be seen in their new smartphone Sony Xperia SP.

The Sony Xperia SP is a handsome phone, with its design and look. Some of the specs in the Sony Xperia Z cannot be seen in the new phone, and some new features are also added.

Many smartphones are arriving on market every day; here is where a company make their true market. All the Sony phones have been made for taking up this challenge. The Xperia SP is a good phone that makes everybody to make a look on it.
Sony has given some clues about the price; the tech technicians say it will be available in low cost. The release date of the phone is not out. If you are looking the company website you can see the phone as ‘Coming Soon’.

Sony has been planning to launch two Xperia brothers; Sony Xperia SP and Sony Xperia L. The Xperia L’s release date is also not out.

The introduction a little bit long, sorry for boring you; let’s go to the specs and features of the phone.

Design
The Sony Xperia SP has a plastic body, which is 10mm thick. The dimension of the body is 130.6 x 67.1 x 10 mm.

The weight of the phone is 155g. The design of the phone is very impressive. The body is same like most of the Xperia phone rectangular in shape.

The phone is available in bed, black, and white colours. The Xperia phone has an LED strip in the bottom of the phone. If you are playing music, the LED shines in the colour of the screen. It also helps you to get notified about the updates, messages, and more.

Screen
The phone sports a 4.6-inch screen, with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The display quality is 319ppi. The phone has a TFT capacitive touchscreen, with 16M colours.

Multitouch is also allowed in the phone, up to 10 fingers. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The Sony Mobile Bravia Engine 2 also used in the phone.

The display of the Xperia SP is little smaller than the other flagship models from other makers. Most of the flagship models today have a display of 5-inch or above.

The 720p resolution is less than the 1080p resolution of the Sony Xperia Z. The images look pretty sharp. The display has nothing to say remarkable. The contrast, viewing angles, and colour reproduction is decent.

Features
The phone has many features some of them are SNS integration, TV-out (via MHL A/V link), Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV player, MP3/eAAC+/WMA/WAV player, Document viewer, Photo viewer/editor, Voice memo/dial, Predictive text input, Java via Java MIDP emulator, GPS with A-GPS support and GLONASS, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, and Wi-Fi hotspot .

The device also has a micro-USB 2.0 port. NFC is also featured in the phone.

Performance
The Sony Xperia SP runs on Android OS, v4.1 Jelly Bean. The phone has an interface similar to Sony’s other Android phones. The phone has a good interface and is user-friendly.

The mobile is also featured with Sony’s soft-wares such as Video and music apps. The Sony Xperia Z allows free download of music from Sony Music, and free video streaming from Sony Television, we hope this will also be allowed with the new phone.

The UI of the phone doesn’t slow-down the phone. The chipset of the phone is Qualcomm MSM8960T Snapdragon. The CPU of the phone is Snapdragon Dual-core 1.7 GHz. The phone has 1GB of RAM.  The GPU of the phone is Adreno 320.

The phone has an internal storage of 8GB. In this 8GB only 5.8GB can be used by the user, the remaining memory is used by the Soft-wares, which is not seen in any other phone before.

Camera
The phone sports an 8MP rear camera. The resolution of the camera is 3264 x 2448 pixels. The camera allows autofocus, and LED flash.

The other features of the camera are Geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization, HDR, and sweep panorama.

The sweep panorama can be seen in the new Sony Xperia tablet Z. The camera allows 1080p video capturing at 30fps with video stabilization.

The phone has a VGA front camera. Just for the user’s sake. It’s the time when many of the phones are having front camera of 1megapixels or more.

After Words
The phone is totally good. The dual-core processor phone aims middle class people, who need a branded smartphone.

The phone is cheap as it costs £299.99 with SIM. Sony wants to go down to ordinary people some they come with a cheap phone. The phone’s specifications are enough to do that. We can say it’s one of the good and cheap branded phones available today.
