Facebook to have major changes in design

Facebook CEO Mark Zukerberg announces major changes in the design of its news after timeline was introduced. The company is trying to make the social network into a newspaper.

The new design will give the users more control over their newsfeed. It will be activated first in US. Other users will have to wait some more days.

There are many things that are new in the news feed. Among the features, the most interesting is the sidebar in the left side of the site.

The company says that the changes are result of going out and speaking with people that use the service daily. In this the user will get more control over the stories displayed on news feed.
The new features introduced are the music and photos. The music feed will bring together all content posted by bands the user has liked, music friends have listened to through services such Spotify, and any concerts that are happening in the local area.
There have been many changes in the design of the service after it was started in 2004.

There have been a complaint about the site that; facebook will not show all posts in news feed. The company says that they will solve the problem with their new design.
Photos are playing a much larger role in news feed content today. That’s why the viewing of photos in the news feed is getting more changes than other things in the feed.

The new design includes the timeline and cover photo which come into act the previous year. The old way of handling and suggesting friends will also change.

The ash background in present is changed to a graphic design in the new feed.

The Close Friends and Recent Posts feeds will remain, while the All Friends feed will be introduced later.

Another new feature is that the order of feed will be changed. An example shown in the conference was someone who clicks on the music tab always will see the music tab on the top.

The company says that the redesigning will allow the user to use the site more safely and will consistent across all platforms. The company also hopes that more people will be attracted to the site and the population will increase.
