Which is the best smartphone? Confusion

It’s a great confusion time in the tech world for smartphone buyers. Do you know why? It’s because many phablets with great features are on the market, but which is the best, which is low in cost everyone is confused. Anyway there are some which is the best. In my view some of the best phablets are iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z, Nokia Lumia 920, and HTC One. I present a comparison between five of them, and it’s your choice to say which the best is.

The first best is ‘Samsung Galaxy S4’

1. Samsung Galaxy S4
The Korean firm new phablet Samsung Galaxy S4 is one of the most feature-filled phones. The device has a Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor and Exynos 5 Octa 5410 chipset.

In my view the second best smartphone is HTC One.

2. HTC One
The HTC One is a very good smartphone that works on Android. The device introduces a new type of camera named ‘Ultrapixel’ camera, but the 4UP camera is not enough to cope with the 13 or 8MP cameras of Samsung or Apple.

The device has a Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors. The size of the screen is 1080 x 1920 pixels that are 4.7 inches with a quality of 469 ppi. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and HTC Sense UI v5.

There is no microSD port in the device; the internal storage of the phone is 32/64 GB. The gadget runs on a powerful Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 chipset and Quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 processor. The sensors in the phone are Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.

The other features of the phone are SNS integration, Dropbox (25 GB storage), Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, TV-out (via MHL A/V link), DivX/XviD/MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV player, MP3/eAAC+/WMA/WAV/FLAC player, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Organizer, Document viewer/editor, Photo viewer/editor, Voice memo/dial/commands, Predictive text input, EDGE, Java, GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi and NFC.

The other features of the phone are sensor of size 1/3'', 2µm pixel size, simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, and OIS. The device sports a front camera of 2.1 MP.

HTC One has many features as well as defects but the problems are small and most people don’t care about it. The camera cannot be said so well, but is enough. Read the full review of HTC One by technotract to know more about the phone.

3. Apple iPhone 5
The market leader’s phone is not above the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One but is powerful and the brand power of Apple makes the phone a dream device. Most of the people now think that keeping an Apple device denotes they are rich and no one is considering the features.

The iPhone 5 is a well-made phone. The high cost of the phone makes it away from ordinary people. There are many rumours that iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S will come to market soon, then Samsung will not simply sit, they will launch Galaxy S5 or some other phablets as the rival for the Apple’s device.

The device has an LED-backlit IPS LCD Retina display and , capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours. The screen dimension of the device is 640 x 1136 pixels that are 4.0 inches with a picture quality of 326 ppi. Screen of the device is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and oleo-phobic coating. The display gives clear and quality pictures.

An 8MP camera is occupied in the phone, which has a resolution of 3264x2448 pixels with autofocus and LED flash. There is also a 1.2 MP secondary camera for video calling. Other features of the camera include Simultaneous HD video and image recording, touch focus, geo-tagging, face detection, panorama and HDR.

The device is powered by Dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, whereas the Galaxy S4 runs on an Octa core processor. The chipset of the phone is Apple A6. Graphics booster of the phone is a triple core PowerVR SGX 543MP3GPU. The device runs on iOS 6, which can be upgradable to iOS 6.1.3. The device has a Non-removable Li-Po 1440 mAh battery with a standby time up to225 h in 2G and Up to 225 h in 3G. The RAM of the phone is 1GB and the device is available in 16/32 and 64GB versions.

Although all this features are in the phone; the Apple’s map is full of defects, and faults, after some months Apple allowed Google Maps to be installed in the phone and solved the problem.  The sensors in the phone are Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.

Anyway the device is an awesome phone but the high cost is the main problem, but those Apple fans who buy all the Apple phones will surely buy this phone.

The forth best phablet is from the Japanese firm Sony and the phone is Sony Xperia Z.

4. Sony Xperia Z

Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini : An affordable & good phone

Samsung released their most rumoured phone Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini. It is the smaller brother of the phablet Samsung Galaxy S3.The device was announced on October 2012, but arrived only on last month Indian markets.

On the first look, it looks like its elder sibling Galaxy S3. The similarities will feel only on the first look. After viewing the phone deep, everybody will ask one question; is the smaller one more beautiful? The device has a very less similarities with its brother Galaxy S3.

The hate thing that is found in the phone is the lack of 4G LTE and the problem of a slow CPU. The device is for those who were waiting for an all-feature, stylish and small and low-cost Galaxy.

The phone is a Mid-Range Android in the crowded market. The device has S voice and DLNA as a high end features, which can be seen in a very few Samsung phones.

There hasn’t been any announcement from Samsung about the price or availability. Samsung has released mini versions of their high-end phone like Samsung Galaxy SII before. Let’s take a look at the phones specs and features.
Design
The phone shows the real talent of Samsung. As we all know phones below 4-inch and 4-inch is now known as mini smartphones. The Mini S3 sports a 4-inch Super AMOLED WVGA display with 16M colours, which are 800 x 480 pixels. The screen has a curved design with the 4 edges as curved.

The device gives 233ppi quality display, where the S3 has 305.96ppi. The resolution is good within a 4-inch phone. The body of the phone is 121.6 x 63 x 9.9 mm. The phone weights 111.5g.

The Galaxy S3 Mini looks almost identical to the Galaxy S3. The original S3’s design is glossy but sleek. The S3 mini comes in two colour variants white and purple blue.

Performance and features
The device is a copy of the S3 in design. Under the hood the mini S3 is totally different. The phone has a 1 GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor. The original has a 1.GHz processor, but the 1GHz is enough for a 4-inch phone but the CPU totally is slow.

The device uses Android v4.1. The chipset used in the phone is NovaThor U8420. GPU of the phone is Mali-400

The speed of the phone is enough for more users but is not on a top speed. The 2GB RAM in the original S3 is replaced by a 1GB RAM. The device has choice for storage as 8GB and 16GB. It also allows microSD up to 32GB.

The camera in the mini S3 is 5MP, which is 8MP in the original S3. But it still comes with LED flash and auto focus. The camera is 2592x1944 pixels.

The front camera has gone down to a VGA camera from 1.9MP in the S3. Samsung has used 5MP camera before but this is somewhat different. It gives more clear pictures and the quality of the images taken is good.

Video at 720p with 30fps can be captured with the camera. The other features of the camera are Geo-tagging, touch focus, and face detection.

The device comes with connectivity such as Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP, LE, and EDR. The data transfer speed of the phone is HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps. The phone comes with WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, and WiFi hotspot.

NFC is also included in the phone. The battery of the phone is Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery, which is 2,100mAh in original S3. The battery provides a stand-by up to 450 h in 2G and Up to 430 h in 3G. Talk time provided by the battery is up to 14 h 10 min in 2G and Up to 7 h 10 min in 3G.

The sensors in the phone are Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. Other features of the phone are SNS integration, MP4/DivX/XviD/WMV/H.264/H.263 player, MP3/WAV/eAAC+/AC3/FLAC player, Organizer, Image/video editor, Document viewer, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa, Voice memo/dial/commands, and  Predictive text input (Swype).

The phone also supports Java via Java MIDP emulator. GPS with A-GPS support and GLONASS are also included in the phone.

OS and Software
The device runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which is the second latest Android OS. The device comes with Samsung Touch Wiz interface.

There are many other Apps and Softwares. The device comes with many other extras such as the photo-sharing features among networked phones, and S Beam, used for file-sharing using NFC.

S Voice is also included in the phone. The S voice is the answer by Google with Samsung to Apple’s Siri. But the S Voice disappoints us; it doesn’t perform well, when compared to Siri.

There are other great features in the phone, including the app that keeps the screen lit when you glance at the camera. DLNA is the phone helps to share files like videos and photos between devices such as TV.

All this features uses lots of battery power and it also slows down the phone, this one of the main cause for the slow CPU.

After Words
The Mini S3 is packed with lots of features. The device is totally good and affordable for mid-range people. The smaller device is a good idea by the company. The device is less powerful, but I don’t think it is such a big problem for those who were waiting for a tier brand’s feature-filled phone.

The 4-inch small screen is one of the highlight of the device. The device is not at all a big challenge for Apple because they don’t have such small phones. My only opinion is that if the company make the device more powerful, it would be a good thing. Any way the device is a good choice and the affordable price of Rs 18,190 attract people.

Orbitsound T9 : A good soundbar at a low price

It’s the time when in-build speakers in phones, TV’s, and tablets rule the market. Many of them fail to give good sound and bass when needed. Then we feel the need of a special gadget to produce good sound. Here is the place Orbitsound products makes their market.

The latest product from the Orbitsound is Orbit sound T9. It’s suitable for any device including, TV’s Computers, Tablets and for. It’s also an iPod dock. The biggest rival is Monitor Audio iDeck 100. Let’s go on to the specs and reviews.

Features
The device comes with two box set-up boasts front and side speakers on the side of the main dock and a slim remote. The remote allows easy switching of iPhone, iPhone, and source input.

The device is suitable for any device such as iPhone, iPod and it supports almost all the devices. The two-boxes in the pack is built to use for home cinema and game consoles.

The device can also be used as a desktop system. The woofer produces good bass and the boxes give out clear and loud sound.

If you use the device for your desktop, you can place the woofer under the table or suitable place because it’s hard and big. And thus you can feel the bass in your toes instead of your ears.

The T9 has the Orbit’s Spatial technology. The device delivers very loud sound and no matter whether you are in the room or not.

Design
The T9 is rectangular in shape. It is not having a very stunning design. The design seems average, and most of the customers don’t look over the design they want it to be just comfortable.

The dock is slim and subwoofer is very chunky in appearance. The dimension of the dock is 230 mm x 139 mm x 355 mm.

As every docks and speakers have, the T9’s box is also having a front grill. The subwoofer looks like a front loaded washing machine. The woofer is placed in the middle and is round in shape. Other places of the subwoofer are plane and it looks beautiful.

The design seems very simple. The design makes the device to give out every bit of sound produced and thus gives a very surround effect.

The device is enough small to cope with a little space.

Specifications
The T9 offers a great soundbar at a low price. One of the main benefits of this device is that it’s connectivity option to TV, Game consoles, Blu-ray and other devices. The iPod or iPhone can be placed in the middle of the box.

There is option in the T9 to connect mobile phones. The missing of an HDMI port makes its cost low. Orbitsound says HDMI port can be seen their future products.

The subwoofer and the dock is 80 watt. There is a 140 watt system split with the device.

Audio Quality
The device produces a very good sound. If you are watching an F-1 race or car race you can feel the bass very clearly. One of the problems of the device is that if the bass is high the dialogues or other speeches cannot be heard.

The Orbitsound T9 has a very good audio quality when compared to other low-cost soundbars.

If you want to hear the correct quality of sound you need to place the subwoofer certain distance away from the dock. The balancing of sound and bass in the device is very good.

The device performs best when an iPhone or iPod is plugged than any other devices. It offers sound that no other mid-sized dock offers. Clear sound will fill the whole place if the device is kept in correct distance from each other.

Long dialogues or news with any other background gives the opportunity to hear the quality of sound. The Orbitsound T9 is a mid-range soundbar, but it offer sound that any other mid-range device can’t.

It gives a large boost on sounds for games and movies.

After Words
There is nothing special about the T9’s design but it offers a great thing at a low-cost. The device is not so stylish or is not made for satisfy trendy users, but is made for those who need a soundbar at a low-cost.

The point that get the device market is that most of the soundbars are kept under TV or is hided somewhere else, so there is no place for great design in a soundbar.

If you need a cheap, good and well performing soundbar there is no choice other than the Orbitsound T9. The device is best for iPad, iPod, TV’s, Game consoles, Mobiles and desktop.

The device comes with an amazing price tag of £199. There is no doubt that it is the only cheapest good quality audio delivering soundbar at present.

Asus Padfone 2 : A Mobile in a Tablet!

Phones are becoming bigger and bigger, now a days. This will change the mobiles into tablets in future. Asus also is taking a step to it. The new Padfone 2 slides on the back of a tablet. Get surprise by reading the previous line? Yes, it’s a phone in a tablet. We can say that it’s an offer; buy one tab get a mobile free.

The idea of Asus is very good, because you can save your money, space, and weight the new Padfone. There are many rivals for the tablet as well as the mobile. The phone is sliding in the back of the tablet as shown in the below picture.

One of the main problems of the tablet is that, if we take away the phone the space is empty blank. But I know many of you will no t take it as a big problem.
The main rivals of the tablet are iPad 4Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 or the Sony Xperia Tablet Z. Let’s first take look on the phones specs and features and after the tablet’s.

Mobile Phone

Size and build
The phone has a 4.7-inch Screen. Its OS is Android 4.1.1 Jelly bean. The dimension of the screen is 137.9 x 68.9 x 9 mm which means 5.43 x 2.71 x 0.35-inches. It weights only 135g.

The device fells very secure in hands. The white glossy front is in contrast to a matte. It has a very long battery life, which is half of a tablet.

The design of the phone is very good to handle, and is very beautiful. Different from other phones the SIM card slot is placed on the top edge of the Padfone. The slot seems to be a tightly sealed unit. But it’s very easy to open and close with your nails.

The non-removable battery is placed inside the phone, so there is no need to open the phone until it wants to be repaired.

The body is not as good as the body of other phones such as HTC One or iPhone 5.

The phone is not thick as of the Lumia phones. It’s only has a standard height, weight and fat. It’s not so wider, but it satisfies a premium user.

The 4.8-inch display is one of the noticeable features of the phone. Although it’s comfortable in hand, it’s not a slim-beauty like the iPhone 5 or Galaxy S4.

The display is awesome, though it doesn’t have a full HD display like that of HTC One, and Sony Xperia Z. The resolution is little lesser than the LG Google Nexus 4.

Screen
The phone presents a rich, glossy, and colourful display. The phone has a display of Super IPS+ LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours. Its display offers a quality of 312 pixels per inch density.

It also allows multitouch. Its display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The colour reproduction and the contrast of the display are very good. The screen resolution is 720 x 1280 pixels.

Camera
The camera of Padfone 2 stands with the LG Optimus G, Sony Xperia Z, and Samsung Galaxy S4. It is of 13 Megapixel. The camera performs well in low-light conditions.

It has a position that’s far ahead from HTC One’s camera which’s 4 Ultrapixel. There are some difference between both; the HTC One’s sensor produce bigger pixels to suck more light.

The image taking in the phone is somewhat similar to the older Nokia smartphones. If you want to capture a full screen image, you need to reduce the quality o 10MP from 13MP.

The ratio so has black bars at the ends of the display.

The features such as the Scene settings and the HDR are very useful. The photos taken are sharp and crisp.

The images taken with flash aren’t bad. The low-light situations are the worst time to take images in most mobile cameras. To avoid this HTC One is featured with an Ultrapixel camera. There is no physical camera button, but the camera option is available in the lock screen.

The phone has a front facing camera of 1.2Megapixel resolution. The front facing camera is hidden when placed on the tablet’s docking section. To avoid the lack of a front camera in the front of the tablet, it has its own 1MP camera.

The rear camera of the phone acts as the tablet’s main camera. When the phone is docked the rear camera is exposed off.

The Padfone shoots video at 60 frames per second at 720p resolution or 1080p if you settle for 30fps.
The other features of the camera are Geo-tagging, touch focus, and face detection.

Performance and features
The Padfone 2 is powered by a Qualcomm 1.5 GHz quad-cores chip. The CPU is Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait. The GPU of the phone is Qualcomm GPU. These specifications are enough to run the phone smoothly and fast. The multiple tasks are good in the phone.

The device is available in 16, 32, and 64 GB. The device has a 2 GB of RAM. Gaming on the phone doesn’t upset us, it gives good results. The multiple tasks done on the phone doesn’t get stuck off.

There are many features in the phone such as the SNS integration, Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, TV-out (via MHL A/V link), ASUS Web Storage (50 GB storage), MP3/WAV/eAAC+ player, MP4/H.264/H.263 player, Organizer, Document viewer, Photo viewer/editor, Voice memo/dial, and Predictive text input (Swype).

The sensors of the phone are Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. Java can be used in the phone through Java MIDP emulator. GPS with A-GPS support is also included in the phone.

Asus also offers features such as Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, dual-band, and Wi-Fi hotspot.

Docking Station-tablet
The Padfone 2’s phone docking station is very impressive and quite smart. It is a tablet.

The phone can be fitted on the backside of the tablet. There is no chance for a fear that, if it will slip from the docking station, because its design is enough to hold the Padfone 2.

One of the main features of the tablet is that, if we dock the phone in the tablet it will not bulk up the device’s back. The 724g tablet and the 135g phone makes the device heavier. Totally it weights up 859g.

Holding the device landscape orientation, it makes a doubt in the user that it may slips and fall. The design of the tablet is good, and it’s made for phone to keep.

The tablet’s body and the performance are very smooth. Take a look at the docking station-tablet’s specs and features.

Screen and Performance
The tablet’s display is good enough but no other extra features or special display, because Asus had taken more care to make the phones display.
The image quality of the tablet is only 149ppi, which is far behind the phone’s display which is 312ppi.

The dimension of the docking station is 273 x 176.9 x 13.55 mm. The tablet is 10.1-inches in size. It comes with an IPS LCD display.
Asus haven’t taken care to make the tablet a better one, as a result, for sound the tablet only have a single speaker which is not enough for such a tablet.

The processor of the tablet is same as that of the phone- Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 8260A Dual-Core 1.5 GHz. The RAM and storage is the same.
The processor in the tablet is not enough to perform heavy multiple tasks in such a large device. Small multiple tasks are supported by the tab with less or no difficulty.

The battery offers a stand-by up to 352h and a talk time up to 16h. The power management of the tablet is good, as it tries to save maximum charge.

Software
There are many apps in the phone and the tablet. You can find many special extra apps in tablet such as the Pad only, though most work on both phone and tablet.

There are other apps like Buddy-Buzz, which collect social networking information from Twitter and Facebook.

There are also apps which help you to switch between the tablet and the phone quickly. There are other apps that shares posts across social networks.

After Words
There may be many questions, when we see saving, money, space and weight this way. There are many tablets and mobiles that are available in this price.

Everybody may think “what is the need of such a thing”? This question wants to be asked to the company itself. But this is a well designed, smart, and powerful device. The price of the device is £599.

Anyway this is a good offer from Asus, for those who need a tablet and a phone, that can be easily carried anywhere without any troubles.
