Samung Galaxy S4 : The best Smartphone

After long months of rumours and expectations, it has arrived: The Samsung Galaxy S 4. It is it the latest flagship model from the Korean firm Samsung. It look similar to the photos that where leaked. Its screen size is similar to that of Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Its job is to fight with the iPhone 5. Main rivals are iPhone 5, HTC One, and Sony Xperia Z. It was launched in the New York City on Thursday 14th March. Let’s take a look at its specs and great features.

Size & build
Everybody now that the size of S4 will not be small, when considering to the huge response that get for Galaxy S3 and Note 2. It comes with a dimension of 69.8mm x 136.6mm and 7.9mm thick. It’s so thin than the S3. This makes the phone more attractive.
The Galaxy S4 weights 130g, it’s somewhat heavier than the iPhone 5, which weights 112g, and is less heavy than the Sony Xperia Z. Although it is big and heavy it’s very comfortable to hold in hands, and the grip ensures that it will not slip from hands.

The Galaxy S4’s exterior buttons are similar to that of Galaxy S3. On the right side stands the on/off button. On the left it’s place for the volume rocker. The headphone jack is placed on the top and the charging port is on the bottom. This all buttons are same in the S3 also. The other exterior button is the home, which is in the bottom of the screen.

The body is made up of plastic, which is similar to the S3. The Galaxy S4 is available in black and white colours at the launch.

Features
The Galaxy S4 is a phone that is thickly packed with features, as that of the S3. As we heard in the rumours, the phone has more smart features, such as the Smart Pause function.

The phone has a smart eye feature, that make the phone to know where you are looking while playing a video. It will automatically do pause the video, if you take off your eyes for specified seconds. The device is high responsive that the S3.

Along with Smart Pause, there's also Smart Scroll, which allows you to tilt the phone to scroll up and down WebPages and left-to-right in a gallery.

The device had taken some features from the Galaxy Note 2; Air View has been added to the S4 but without the need of a stylus. If you stay your finger 2cm above the screen for a few seconds you’ll get a preview of a video or an email.

Another feature of the phone is the Air Gesture. This is a pointless function that allows scrolling by waving your hand up and down to scroll WebPages or answer a call without any effort.

Group Play is another new feature that allows you to connect to eight others, who uses S4 to play games or listen to a track.

Samsung offers 50GB of Dropbox storage, which aims the internet users. The phone comes with sensors such as Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, temperature, humidity, and gesture. The device also offers wireless charging, which is found in Nokia Lumia 920. The phone also supports NFC.

The other features included are Voice natural language commands and dictation, Smart stay, Smart pause, Smart scroll, Air gestures, Dropbox (50 GB storage), Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, TV-out (via MHL A/V link), SNS integration,  MP4/DivX/XviD/WMV/H.264/H.263 player, MP3/WAV/eAAC+/AC3/FLAC player, Organizer, Image/video editor, Document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF), Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa, Voice memo/dial/commands, and  Predictive text input (Swype).

Screen
The gigantic 5-inch screen suites for all the features of the phone. It is the most noticeable feature of the phone. It defeats all its rivals like HTC One which is 4.7-inches, iPhone 5, which is 5-inches, and Lumia 920, which has 4.5-inches with its screen.

The quality of the screen is also increased, it now 440ppi. The phone is featured with AMOLED display with 5 point multitouch. Menus, webpages and pictures are dazzlingly bright and pin-sharp.

Camera
The trump card of the phone is its 13-megapixwl camera. The camera offers 1080p video recording. The secondary, front camera is 2-megapixel. It can be used for video calling.

There are many other features for the camera such as the Dual Shot, which allows you to use both the front-facing and back-facing cameras simultaneously and creates a picture-in-picture image.

The other features of the camera are Dual Shot, Simultaneous, HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization, and HDR.

Performance
The phone is featured with an Exynos 5 Octa 5410 chipset. The phone runs on Android OS, v4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Samsung offers Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor in the phone.

The phone has 2GB of RAM, and you will get choice to select storage. The offered in-built memories are 16, 32, or 64GB. The phone also allows MicroSD, which can be upgraded up to 64GB.

Battery
The phone comes with a Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery. It offers a life more than the S3. The specs agree with a 2,600mAH battery on board, a step-up from its predecessor.

After Words
There is no doubt that this is one of the best smartphone available now in the market. The bigger screen is its best features. The camera also performs well.

This will be a great challenge to Apple and other companies. We can say that its best at the price point of $579. If you buy this, it will be a great offer from Samsung, for you.
