Panasonic 4K : The Big Tab

Panasonic takes another step to the tab market by introducing their new tablet in Consumer Electronic Show on Tuesday. Although it is a thing of beauty, it will be not for everyone. It was unveiled with the Panasonic 4K OLED TV.

The tablet runs on Windows 8. The device has a massive display of 20-inch with an Ultra HD 4K resolution of 3840 x 2560. It also has 230ppi, which make the device display more clear. The company takes a good decision to use Windows 8 Pro in it, as it is the most suitable and responsive on the device.

The device doesn’t aims at average customers it is build for professionals and photographers. The features are still interesting.

Specifications & Features
Panasonic emphasized that the version of the tablet is only just a model and specs can undergo changes.
The device is currently packed with a 1.8GHz Intel i5 3427U vPro processor. Different from other tablets the device also offers Nvidia GeForce graphics. The memory of the tab is 4GB and mostly will be increased. The device also includes a 128GB storage which cannot be found in similar devices.

Panasonic offers 10 point multi-touch for the device and 720p video capture from the rear camera. The tab also had got space for MicroSD.

The device is of great power, as it has got hardware specifications similar to laptops. The tablet weights 2.2kg. And its massive frame blocks from handed use.

Another bad thing of the tab is that its battery life is only 2-hours. Other tabs including Samsung and Apple are competing to make tabs with long battery life, where Panasonic doesn’t.

The device can be used as a laptop because of its huge size and hardware specs. Connections are limited to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and a USB 2.0 and there's also a Digital Pen stylus, similar to those that come with Wacom's graphics-focused tablets. The screen uses most of the power, which also reduces battery life. The enormous screen helps professionals to make their job easier.

After Words
The tablet is likely to have a niche market. Although the design is good the size rise as a problem. The company aims mainly professionals so the price may not be problem. The device is bigger than common laps, desktops and will not be having a bright future. The release date is not announced and we need to wait more to see the original device.
