Sony Experia Z : The Water Proof Phone

Sony Xperia Z, from the Japanese tier brand Sony arrives to market last day. It seems to Sony’s best phone packed with features.

Size and build

Sony’s competition is with iPhone 5, LG Optimus G and Samsung Galaxy S3. It is the best & biggest phone the company has ever made.

The phone is occupied with a 5-inch screen. The screen is good looking, but the thing that upsets is the 7.9mm thickness which makes the phone hard to hold & carry. The device has to compete with Samsung Galaxy S 3, iPhone 5 & LG Optimus G which are very thin.

The phone has a solid finish with plastic in edges. And has shatterproof glass front and black. The phone comes with excellent build quality which makes it feel good in hands.

The phone is made with a power button which shutdown and save battery power when screen is off.

The phone is featured with SnapDragon S 4 Pro Quad Core Processor. It has a 13MP camera which is a great challenge to LG Optimus G which also has a 13MP camera. The device is waterproof. The phone offers great apps including Sweep Panorama- a Sony camera speciality with a simple sweeping movement that came along before the similar iPhone feature. The phone is very fast and the great response of touch screen makes the phone the best. The RAM of phone is 2GB which also makes the phone fast.

There is a Smile shutter as we have seen in LG Optimus G. It also does what we have seen; just smile the snap is ready. It is reasonably fast and takes photos in low light situations. The camera also includes LED flash that helps to take clear photos.

The phone comes with Android Jelly Bean, as it is not the latest version an upgrade is planned. Lots of apps are offered by the phone to make it user-friendly. It also allows continuous auto-focus too. The secondary front camera is 2.2 MP which can be used for video calling.

The phone has an internal storage of 16GB. This can be extended to 32GB.

Screen

The 5-inch screen looks pretty good. Video recording in the phone is very nice. The screen has high-resolution; 443ppi, against 324ppi seen on iphone 5 screen.

The company’s TV department also participated in making the screen. The technology used is called The ‘Sony Bravis Engine 2’. The video playback in the HD screen of the phone is very impressive.

Battery

The battery used is Non-removable Li-Ion 2330 mAh battery. The battery backup is 4 hours, which is increased by the apps used. There are options to boost the battery life as seen above. The battery performance is average and is a bad point of the phone. The stamina increaser boosts the battery life for more time, as reserve fuel in vehicles.

After Words

The phone is available in Black, White and Purple colours. The phone seems too big for some, because of its thickness. The price of the phone is £500.This is said to be little high. It is a good choice in this series.
