Samsung unveiled their new 32-inch HD LED TV Samsung UE32EH5000. It is a midrange set that promises amazing features and price. Today a number of LED TV’s are available in affordable prices, but the UE32EH5000 is different. It varies from others with its great features.
Now days Samsung bring their most TV’s in the brand name ‘Samsung Smart’, this TV is not included in that category. It is because of its low-cost. Let’s take a look at its specs and features
Design and features
The TV has a super-slim body and silver styling of Samsung’s expensive sets. The design has much change from the regular design of LED, LCD TV’s, with a rear end that slicks out like a dancer in a hip-hop video.
But don’t let that chunkiness put you off too much – elsewhere it’s rather dapper, sporting a slim gloss black bezel and a little lip at the bottom. The round stand adds to the allure with some sumptuous curves and more gloss black, even if its build is a little plastic.
On the back there is very limited number of sockets, which is not found today in other similar models. There are only two HDMI ports. This will worry you if you have many hi-definition devices.
The other ports included are; Composite Video Input, Component Video Input, USB, Ethernet (RJ 45), Headphone Jack, Digital Optical Audio Output, SCART and one RF
Connection Input.
Without DLNA or Samsung’s Smart TV portal, the Samsung offers a great deal of a Freeview HD tuner that allows access to hi-definition channels.
The TV supports watching videos, playing music, and viewing photo files through USB port. It also supports a large amount of video formats such as AVCHD, DivX, WMV HD, AVI, XviD, MP4, 3GP and MKV. In the case of music files also it offers support to MP3, WMA, AAC and FLAC formats. The image side disappoints as it supports only JPEG.
The TV doest allows recording from Freeview tuner into an external memory source.
The device’s setup menu offers a various picture adjustments. Select the Picture menu and the first page houses all the usual tweaks – presets (Movie, Natural, Standard, and Dynamic), contrast, brightness, sharpness, colour and tint. There is also a lot in advanced settings menu.
The TV also offers Dynamic Contrast, White Balance, Black Tone and Gamma. The TV’s picture option menu contains settings such as Tone, Digital/MPEG Noise Filters and LED Motion Plus, which makes the movement smooth and reduces judder.
The stand of the TV is round. The TV weights 6.4 Kg (with stand). The measurement of the TV display is 738.3 x 444.9 x 93.2 mm.
The other features included are Clock, Sleep Timer, On/Off Timer, Game Mode, Picture in Picture, Teletext, 1 Tuner Picture-In-Picture, OSD Language, ConnectShare Movie (USB 2.0), EPG, Channel List USB-Clone, CI+, Auto Channel Search, Eco Sensor, Auto Power Off
Operation
The TV is featured with a stripped-back menu system. The TV offers a very cute graphics and great brightness.
The main menu is featured in the middle of the screen as a simple blue box. It contains all the relevant categories listed down the left. The TV has a smooth moving cursor, which makes navigation easy. Hitting on the ‘content’ button on the remote displays a row of large icons, which gives access to the channel list,EPG, USB content, schedule manager and connected sources. The tools menu displays settings and details of what you are watching.
Samsung’s EPG is one of the best in the market. It is packed with a six-grid programme grid. There are also shortcuts to radio and data stations. There is a flexible onscreen info banner, which allows you to view any channel for the next seven days, not just ‘now and next’ like some TVs.
The ‘Media Play’ has a user-friendly theme. It also contains logical submenus, folders and thumbnails to help you find your files quickly.
The remote is smaller Samsung’s usual ones. This will not affect the buttons and nothing is there to worry about the remote that the buttons are not thickly packed. Some may find the buttons at the bottom a little small but it’s not a major hindrance.
Performance
The UE32EH5000 delivers picture quality that you will not expect for Rs 28,776. As we saw in design the performance is also great for the price.
The TV gives a great Blu-Ray experience and the brightness is great for an HD LED 32-inch model. The brightness in the day light appears very good. The TV gives HD materials a rich, razor-sharp appearance.
The TV is best to view bright animated movies and videos, in which the TV performs its best. The image retains a reasonable sense of depth, helped considerably by a consistent backlight, which brings uniform picture depth across the screen. This means you can easily make out shadow detail in the picture, such as shading and textures on the background walls as the team explores the alien edifice.
The flashing light that cut their way through the gloom are remarkably crisp, which shows the sets superb contrast. The TV makes even the dull pictures bright. Even the Freeview channels can be awesome when seen through the Samsung UE32EH5000.
Perhaps the biggest flaw is motion reproduction. I watched Match of the Day in HD and detected some smearing behind moving players and a slight gauzy effect as the camera moves around the pitch, but it’s not likely to spoil your enjoyment.
Sound
The TV is featured with Down Firing and Full Range built-in speakers. The technology used is Dolby Digital Pulse with SRS Theatre Sound. The TV gives good sound when watching live programs with crackling sound. It also works well with news and quiz programmes. The bass of the speakers is not up to the mark, but that doesn’t count.
After Words
We can say the Samsung UE32EH5000 is one of the best 32-inch LED TV’s. Its amazing price also attracts people towards it. The audio and video performance of the TV is higher than all the expectations. There is no place for rethinking before buying. It’s a great offer made by Samsung with its price of 28,776. All this things makes the UE32EH5000 a nightmare for the rivals. Once again I say it’s the best choice of all 32-inch HD LED TV’s.
