The latest phone from the company HTC; HTC One was launched on last week. HTC One is a phone in which HTC presents all their talent. The phone runs on Android. It is one of the main rivals to the Samsung’s flagship device Galaxy S4.
If a phone wants to be the number one in market, it needs to be fast as Google Nexus 4, want to be beautiful as Sony Xperia Z and thin as Samsung Galaxy S4; this is the science of the market today.
The HTC One is a combination of almost all of these features. Due to technical problems, we are little bit late but we present the full review of the HTC One here. Have a look at its specs and features.
Size and Build
The HTC One is capable to compete with the iPhone 5, if we are looking at its features and its body. We cannot say it’s so thick but little bit thicker than other leading phones.
The phone weights 143g. The phone has an aluminium body. The phone has a dimension of 137. 4 x 68.2 x 9.3mm.
The phone is easy to carry and handle in hands. You can find the lock/power button on the top. The volume rocker is placed on the side. HTC has crammed two speakers for stereo sound on the front side inside two rectangular grills.
Features
The phone runs on Android OS, v4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The features of HTC One are entirely different from that of the HTC One X. The added features made great changes in the phone.
The phone comes with the BlinkFeed app, used to read news which can be customized using social networks. The most useful thing that can be done using the app is that you can read news from your own selected sources. A similar app named ‘News’ can be found in the Windows 8 PC OS.
There are many other apps that cheer the user. The sensors in the phone are Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.
The other features included in the phone are SNS integration, Dropbox (25 GB storage), Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, TV-out (via MHL A/V link), DivX/XviD/MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV player, MP3/eAAC+/WMA/WAV/FLAC player, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Organizer, Document viewer/editor, Photo viewer/editor, Voice memo/dial/commands, and Predictive text input.
HTC also offers Dropbox storage of 25GB. Adobe flash player is also included in the phone. The browsers are HTML and Adobe Flash. Java can also be used in the phone using via Java MIDP emulator. The phone comes with an A-GPS support and GLONASS. The phone has a Stereo FM radio with RDS.
The phone also supports EDGE, WLAN, Micro USB, and NFC. The WiFi (WLAN) of the phone is 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot. The phone also has v4.0 Bluetooth with A2DP. The speed of data transfer in the phone is HSPA+; LTE, Cat3, 50 Mbps UL, 100 Mbps DL.
Screen
The new phone is featured with a 4.7-inch 1080 Full HD display, at a quality of superb 469ppi. The phone has a Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen, with 16M colours. The phone also allows multitouch.
The phone has a scratch resisting Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The clarity of the screen is very good. Watching videos on the phone will surprises the user with its effect and quality.
The contrast and colour reproduction works well in the phone. The main rival of the phone Samsung Galaxy S4 has a bigger display, but this feels ok for the user. The screen is also protected by HTC Sense UI v5.
Camera
HTC starts a new era on phone camera with Ultrapixel. The camera sported on the phone is 4 Ultrapixel. The photos taken on the phone is having a very good result. In this all the camera sensors are broken up into tiny photo-sites. The photo-sites are then translated in to pixels.
The 4 Ultrapixel camera in the phone is not able to cope the 13 Megapixel camera in Samsung Galaxy S4 or LG Optimus G. If the photo wants to look good you need more light.
I’m sure that the Ultrapixel and the megapixel will confuse the buyers. The colour reproduction of the camera is awesome.
The company also introduces a new feature with the phone known as ‘HTC Zoe. This will take 20 images and also record three second video clip. The main advantage of the feature is that you can take a picture dragging through the video.
This feature also helps the user to forget about the timing, as it stops automatically when the time reaches. This feature is so helpful if you are using Social networks.
The other features of the camera includes autofocus, LED flash, 1/3'' sensor size, 2µm pixel size, simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, OIS, 1080p@30fps, HDR, stereo sound recording, and video stabilization.
The phone also has a front camera of 2.1MP for video calling, which has 080p@30fps, and HDR.
Performance
The phone comes with a Quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 processor. The phone has a RAM of 2GB and storage of 32/64GB. This combination makes the device one of the fastest phones in the world. The chipset of the phone is Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600.
The phone is very powerful to do heavy multiple tasks. The phone has a GPU of Adreno 320. One of the great use of this processor-RAM-chipset combination is; the phone doesn’t get hang while download large apps from Google Play.
If you are playing HD games which makes the RAM and processor work hard you will think it will get some problems, but the phone is still quite.
This performance of the phone is a great challenge to rivals such as Samsung Galaxy S4 and Sony Xperia Z. This power also meant that HTC can make great pressure on Samsung’s
Galaxy S4, which is having Octa-core processor.
The one and only problem of the phone’s performance is it doesn’t have microSD port.
Battery
The phone comes with a Non-removable Li-Po 2300 mAh battery. There is no official data about the Battery life. This is a phone that is having great different from its rivals. There are many non-official data about the battery life that it is very long and provides great support to the other features of the phone.
The tests prove that phone will give more than a day of comfortable usage if you are interested in manly tweeting, browsing and texting.
We recommend charging everyday if you are a game addict or interested in heavy dose YouTube videos. Continuous gaming and music with movies also kills the battery charge.
After Words
The HTC One had gained a unique position in the market. When the Samsung launched their Galaxy S3, it was having only a single rival; Apple iPhone 5. But that situation is going to change.
After that Samsung introduced their Galaxy S3, Nokia Lumia phones, Sony Xperia phones and many others. So the phone has to face many challenges and have to face many rivals to gain the No. 1 in the market.
The company is facing a great challenge as it lost its market share with the launch of Galaxy S4. The HTC One is enough to challenge all the leading phones in the market £519.99. HTC had proven their talent with presenting an outstanding phone like HTC One.
I’m sure that it is the best Android smartphone in the lifetime of HTC.
