Nokia Lumia 1020 PureView : The Giant Phone with 41MP camera

Last afternoon’s Nokia’s announcement was not a surprise to nobody, as they officially announced their new smartphone Lumia 1020, which comes with a revolutionary 41MP camera.

The highlight of the phone is the 41MP camera, with 6 lenses as mentioned above, the camera comes with a PureView sensor. Everybody was ready for the announcement, because of the leaked revealing news earlier that day.

The combination of PureView sensor and 6 lenses camera makes everybody a professional photographer. The PureView sensor and the 7 pixels in one in a process called oversampling. This oversampling causes you to get plenty of details even when zoomed in.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 also shoots 1080p videos and it also has a xenon flash and LED light for shooting in low-light conditions. One of the other features of the camera is that it can take pictures in different focus from a photo that had taken. It also has a HD front camera with 1.2 MP wide angle.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 PureView sports a new Nokia Pro Camera application, instead of the normal camera application in Nokia phones. Through the dual-capture option you can capture a single photo in two different resolutions in same time, one photo of 38MP which is the original and other photo of 5MP for uploading in Social networks.

The optical image stabilisation prevents the phones from shaking, and its good news for those who are having shaky hands. This option will be automatically got on, on the time of video capturing. Nokia says it’s the system of ball-bearings and motors to keep stability when it got moving.

Exposure, focus, white balance Backside-illuminated image sensor , High resolution zoom 3x, Autofocus, Nokia Pro Camera mode and Nokia Smart Camera Mode. Are the other features which the camera sports. As I said above it will make everybody a professional photographer, and the trusty auto settings that will optimise the performance for the clearest picture also help you in being that.

The Lumia 1020 has adopted its square shape chassis from its older Lumia versions.  The Lumia 1020 comes with a 4.5-inch AMOLED HD+ display, and with a resolution of1, 280 x 768 resolutions. Sculpted glass Gorilla Glass 3, PureMotion HD+ ClearBlack, High Brightness Mode, Sunlight readability, super sensitive touch for nail and glove usage, are also the features of the screen. The device has a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and works with Windows 8.

The phone has a 2GB of RAM and a 32GB internal storage. A SkyDrive cloud storage of 7GB is also offered with this ‘Windows’ phone. The connectivity options in the phone are USB 2.0, Bluetooth, BT 3.0, NFC with SIM based security, WLAN a/b/g/n, A-GPS and Glonass, and 3.5 mm audio connector.

The phone has a dimension of 130.4 x 71.4 x 10.4 mm, and it weighs 158 grams. The phone comes with a 2000 mAh battery; Wireless Charging is also supported in the phone via accessory cover. The phone’s audio setups are IHF speakers, 2 microphones, HD voice compliant, and 3.5mm AV connector.

CEO Stephen Elop, onstage at the New York launch event, was a little cagey about availability - the Lumia 1020 will launch exclusively on AT&T in the US on July 26 with a $300 asking price.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 PureView will be available in the UK later in the year. CEO said that UK will not have any shortage of the phone as they stock it. If your tastes doesn’t meet
with yellow white and black are also available.

Nokia’s two models with 41MP camera were released earlier but they didn’t get enough market. Nokia hops that the phone will sail them to the safe zone as they were a failure in the smartphone market. Nokia had taken many efforts but they didn’t get a safe market share as companies such as Samsung, Apple, Sony, and other companies rule market with low-cost phones. Nokia positions the device as a flagship model for the next generation smartphones. Nokia hopes that the new innovative technology of high megapixel camera will boost their sales, with the Windows brand, hopes their CEO Stephen Elop.
