Samsung Galaxy Camera a Closer Look

This time when smartphones rules the market with their high features that satisfies the user’s photography needs Samsung comes with their smart camera named Samsung galaxy camera. Smartphones are great because they enable you to capture, edit and upload your photos to social networking sites. Most of the smartphones have cameras 8mp or 16mp. But that doesn't count the most smartphones (excluding high cost) has very poor lens that make the images grainy and worst.

Here Samsung shows their skill by making a smartphone in camera rather than a camera in smartphone. The company which makes both smartphones and dedicated cameras has given rise to a new gadget, which is a combination of smartphone and a camera.

The device works with android, the smartphone OS. It has a compact camera-sized sensor and lens large enough to let a decent amount of light in. The camera has a smart control layout and a good design. The device allows you to download apps and use it as in a phone.

The Samsung Galaxy Camera is currently priced at £399 in the UK, AU$599 in Australia and US$499.99 in the US.
Samsung galaxy camera has a 16 megapixel ½.3-inch CMOS sensors, which the other compact cameras have, including the Panasonic TZ30.

This means that the device is capable for video recording with well controlled noise. Full HD (1920 x 1080) video can also be recorded at 30fps.

The sensor comes with a 4.1-86.1mm f/2.8-5.9 lens. That has a 21x optical zoom with the focal length equivalent of a 23-483mm lens in 35mm terms.

This means that the Samsung Galaxy camera is just better that Panasonic TZ30, which has a 2x zoom.

There is also an optical stabilisation which is built to reduce the impact shaking.
Cameras with wide zoom ranges are mostly found with travellers, because they encounter a huge range of subject.

You can share and upload your photos directly to social networks as the camera has Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. The camera also gives the option to browse internet and receive emails.

In the UK a micro SIM package for the 3 network, along with 30 days of data usage and 50GB of Dropbox storage is available. In the US,   the Samsung Galaxy Camera is tied to AT&T, and in Australia it's available through Optus.

You can use Android apps that are downloaded via Wi-Fi or 3G connection as the device runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Samsung has introduced a new breed of camera with the Samsung Galaxy Camera, and it clearly doesn't want to limit its appeal.

There are many more option in the Samsung Galaxy Camera such as Macro, Panorama, Smart Night and Best Photo mode. The camera enables you to select the best images of each person from five consecutively captured photos.

The camera helps less experienced photographers with its automatic mode or one of the 15 scene modes the camera's settings for shooting in particular situations.

The one and only problem of the device is it saves images only in JPEG format.
By launching the Samsung Galaxy camera the company had introduced a new breed of camera and it clearly doesn’t want to limit its appeal. Many cameras with more specifications and features will be launched by many companies to overcome their rivals. We can watch a hard competition between companies to conquer market with their smart cameras.

Micromax Canvas 2 Review

Micromax Canvas 2, new launch from Micromax is rocking in the market. The phone was launched on last Thursday on February 14. The company says that on the first day itself 9,000 models were sold. The feature that attracts people to this phone is its low cost and great features. We can call this phone as a phablet due to its 5inch screen. Let’s take a look at its specifications.

Hardware
The phone is similar to Samsung Galaxy S III and note II in front view. The only
difference is the absence of physical home button. The chrome speaker grill, front camera and sensors are positioned on the top. Micromax branding is not there in front. Three capacitive touch buttons are on the front-bottom of the phone. The Micro-USB port and the 3.5mm audio ports are placed on the top of the phone. In the back there is Micromax branding, camera and a speaker.

The device is powered by 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM, and has a 4GB internal storage that can be expanded to 32GB using microSD card. The phone supports dual SIM but you want to take out the battery to replace both SIM’s.

Display
The phone comes with a 5inch 262k color capacitive touch screen with an IPS panel that has a resolution of 480x854 pixels. The graphics of the phone doest seems much sharper but the viewing angles looks good.

Camera
The 8-megapixel autofocus shoots good images in daylight. Pictures taken in low-light conditions without using LED flash seem a bit grainy. The dual-led flash works well in indoors and low-light conditions. Videos capturing through back camera is average.
There o.3 megapixel front camera takes average picture and can be used for video conferencing.

OS
The phone runs with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich version. Micromax has included some elements of the user interface, such as the app icons and the notification tray. It includes shortcut to settings such as Wi-Fi, Brightness, Rotation, Bluetooth, GPS, Data and profiles, this can be edited and can be filled with app shortcuts.
Micromax has also added its own apps and content store like Wi-Fi, Brightness, Rotation, Bluetooth, GPS, Data and profiles.
The handset also offers FM radio. The phone has three capacitive buttons – a menu key, Home button and a Back key. The phone offers an above average experience in game play and other graphical uses. There is a doubt between the users that the phone would get updated to Jelly Bean, which offers a smoother user experience compared to ICS.

Performance
The phone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor that is a MediaTek chip, and has 512MB of RAM on board. Multitask is comfortable in the phone. One of the main problems of phone is that it will not support 1020p HD video clips, and 720p clips. The phone comes with the native Android browser and renders all webpages well. The phone doesn't come with Adobe Flash. The speaker on the phone delivers good quality sound but volume levels are low. Also, since the speaker is located at the back, the volume levels further decrease when the phone lies on its back. The phone surprisingly doesn't include an ambient light-sensor, so there's no setting for automatic brightness, and the user would need to manually set brightness levels for the screen.

Verdict
The Micromax A110- Canvas 2 is a decent upgrade to the A100. A 5-inch screen phone at a price point of Rs 9,990 is a great offer. If the Micromax could have offered a better screen, and shipped this phone with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean it can make a huge change in market. Micromax has already announced the successor to the Canvas 2, the A116 or Canvas HD, which is expected to be available in February.

Nokia Lumia 920: Nokia's all hope

Lumia 920 Nokia's new smart phone is on its entry to the market. Nokia’s old windows phones didn’t make any change in the market. We are able to say that this is Nokia’s best windows phone by looking at its features. As the first step to catch the market Nokia firstly reduced price of windows phones. One of that was from Rs 28,000 to 13,000. This phone offers wireless charging and more options that old windows phones. Nokia wasn’t a success in the smart phone market. The company is facing intelligence investigation in India, this also
fed up them. The Samsung’s leadership in the smart phone market continuous as it was old. Nokia’s rivals Samsung, HTC, Micromax are on their way with their new phones, where Nokia is having only Lumia 920 to fight back.
If this smart phone also didn’t gain success the company will have to face great trouble as ever in its history. Lumia 920 is having great features when compared to old windows phones. Take a look at its specifications.
